Since its founding, the Shanghai Hyperbolic

Mixed Choir has rehearsed in all seasons

and performed with vigor and enthusiasm

This June, we will unite 7 LGBTQ

friendly choirs from different cities

and provinces in Shanghai

to celebrate the tenth ShanghaiPRIDE!

Music Festival Performance Line-up

Shanghai Hyperbolic Singers

Established in 2012, it is Shanghai’s first and only LGBTQ friendly mixed choir.

Beijing Queer Chorus

Established in 2008, it is Beijing’s only gay choir, the country’s first LGBTQ choir to hold a public performance, one of the first gay choirs from Asia to attend an international gay choir festival, and the only Asian choir to perform at the GALA festival.

Woozeal Chamber Singers

Established in January 2015, the choir has continuously explored the different potentials of the choir art form, boasting a diverse body of work.

Blue Voice Chorus

Founded on November 21, 2015, it is the first gay choir in the Northwestern area of China. The group aims to develop Xinjiang’s own unique gay culture through singing and art, and express their heartfelt wish for equality.

Guangzhou Rainbow Notes Choir

(Six Colors of Musical Notes)

Established on April 19, 2015, this is Guangzhou’s first choir with the purpose of providing musical interaction related communal benefits for LGBTQ people. Their musical works strive for a sense of self and authenticity.

Shanxilandian Tongsheng Chorus

Founded in 2017, it is Shanxi Province’s first choir to be formed by gay men. It aims to exhibit the gay community’s culture through song, increasing society’s understanding and acceptance of sexual minorities.

Nanjing New Jump Chorus

Since it was established in 2016, the choir has grown from only few members to now having professional and enthusiastic instructors. A full complement of 30 members often experiments with different choral styles.

on June 10, in the afternoon 13.00-15.00

Representatives from 7 queer choirs will share

their experiences forming their groups

their current status, and future plans

Participants have an opportunity to interact with

chorus members from all queer choirs.
