As the audience enters the theatre, the huge neon-sign became an attraction foreshadowing the theme of the night. Director Lelia TahaBurt expressed her appreciation for the enthusiastic audience before the show, and for the support from ShanghaiPRIDE. The actresses stepped onto the stage to the rythmic beats of hip hop and loud cheers of the audience.
ShPTF V-2

As the title of the play suggests, the story showcases five different characters and their interconnected relationships – all by the name of Betty (inspired by Betty Boop). Betty 1 is wealthy but angsty because of her unconcerned cheating husband. Betty 2 is a girl with repressed desires who finally sees herself for who she really is. Betty 3 is a powerhouse of sex and confidence but found herself lost in the longing for fame. Betty 5 owns a gym after getting out of prison who seems hard and rough on the surface but is in fact, struggling to find love.
