Red Ribbon Gala Dinner to Create Awareness on HIV/AIDS Among Youths

SHANGHAI – ShanghaiPRIDE, Q-Events and Andaz Xintiandi, Shanghai held a press conference yesterday afternoon to officially launch the Red Ribbon Gala Dinner campaign, which will benefit Shanghai Qingai Health Center.

In conjunction with World AIDS Day on December 1st, the event aims to raise public awareness on HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, and promote anti-discrimination and de-stigmatization towards those infected. There will be a cocktail reception, four-course dinner, performances, raffles draw, and silent auction. Individual tickets are priced at ¥900 each and a table of ten is at ¥8,000. Tickets are open for sale and organizers would like to invite partners from corporate, media, and health communities to join together and make a greater impact on the cause.

ShanghaiPRIDE Concludes Eighth Annual Festival!

Over 6,500 members of the LGBTQ community and its allies came together to celebrate ShanghaiPRIDE’s eighth annual festival on June 17-26. This year’s theme, “生为平常 I Am Me,” revisited the fundamentals of staying true to oneself through 10 days of cultural, social, and educational events across the city.

Shanghai, June 1, 2016—The final countdown to Shanghai’s eighth annual Pride festival is underway, with 10 days of cultural, social and educational events slated for June 17-26. Pride8 will feature the theme “生为平常 I Am Me” – an “affirmation that everyone should hold, regardless of gender, sexuality or other forms of identity,” says ShanghaiPRIDE Director Raymond Phang. “Having witnessed dynamic movements over the past year, this year’s ShanghaiPRIDE hopes to revisit the fundamentals of being who we are and staying true to ourselves.”

Curtains Up on the 2016 ShanghaiPRIDE Theatre Festival

Shanghai, May 3rd, 2016 – ShanghaiPRIDE Theatre Festival (ShPTF) will have one of its signature events, dedicated to exploring the reality of the LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer) Community through artistic expression. The event will assemble Shanghai’s most talented Chinese and English-speaking theatre groups to provide audiences with a rich variety of artistic performances. Starting this May, ShanghaiPRIDE Theatre Festival will be working hand-in-hand with LGBTQ-friendly theatre troupes, both long term partners and new arrivals, to humbly present a rich and abundant performance centering on the theme of “生为平常 I Am Me”.

Shanghai, March 15, 2016—ShanghaiPRIDE Film Festival returns for its second year, 17-26th June 2016. The 10 day festival is a unique platform in Shanghai, showcasing new and emerging Chinese filmmaking talent, alongside some of the most talked about and compelling movies from around the world.

In 2016, ShPFF is celebrating GENDER in all its forms, with films on transgender, non-binary and agender people. The festival teaser trailer, released today, features different gender presentations by members of the Shanghai community.
