As the queer community gains visibility in society, we need to consider other marginalized identities often overlooked in our narratives. Have you ever thought about the intersectionality between queerness and living with disabilities? Our queer identities are multifaceted and diverse; we are feminists, we are queer; we are disabled and we are beautiful. We all live different truths and different lives, meaning that the need to support each other is crucial. ShPFF | Nominees of Chinese Short Film Awards

The Best Chinese LGBTQ Short Films are here!

Nominees from Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, USA, UK, Singapore, etc. are in the run for five awards, including Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, and Best Sound & Music.

Event Recap: Rainbow riders gather together

As a traditional warm-up celebration for ShanghaiPRIDE, Rainbow Bike Ride was successfully carried out on the morning of May 19 to commemorate IDAHOT International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, which is held every year on May 17! Tenth Annual ShanghaiPRIDE Celebrates Community and Identity

Shanghai’s LGBTQ community is gearing up for the city’s tenth annual Pride Festival, fondly dubbed Pride10, which will run from June 8-18. Under the theme “Our Community | Our Identity | Our Pride” this year’s festival will highlight the expansion in the city’s queer scene over the past decade, along with a growing sense of diversity and understanding.

For the LGBTQ community, there can be major barriers to happiness: confusion over gender identity, restrictive gender norms, suppression of gender expression, homophobic speech, and concerns about disease.
