“I’m not like most gay guys”. “She’s too butch for me”. What are these sentiments and where do they come from? The queer community, like every community, is identified by the standards it holds its members to and the spaces it allows them to occupy. “Homonormativity” is a term used to explore how heteronormative standards impact Queer relationships and realities.
