Event Recap: Pride Rocks Rocks Shanghai

The first ever ShanghaiPRIDE, Pride Rocks was held at M64 on 16-June, 2017 showcasing different music styles such as Pop, Psychedelic, and Celtic.

Pride Rocks was sponsored by Rainbow Rabbit. The venue was sponsored by M64.

Mimi first performed “Take Me Up!”. Its descriptive lyrics brought excitement to the audience. Other songs “Your Name”, “Born”, etc. reflected Mimi’s unique views towards music.

Vodka Slaves then drove the audience to another ecstasy with “Gay Bar”. They also managed to delight the audience with a few grunge songs. They concluded their performance with “Breaking The Law”, expressing their views towards life and the power of diversity.

Joelle Jay invited all the audience to be her friends with 2 solos. She and her band managed to mesmerize the audience with her story-telling songs. “Outside These Walls” was an ode to the uniqueness of each individual. “Dancing Alone” was the last song performed by Joelle.

After the performances, the audience stayed behind to continue partying with the music dedicated to the event mixed by XC3N.

The first ever ShanghaiPRIDE Pride Rocks ended gloriously. The 3 bands brought different people together and removed their boundaries with their music and expressed their support for diversity and the community.
