Pride8 Donates 30K RMB to Common Language
Common Language received RMB30,000 donation from the proceeds of ShanghaiPRIDE 2016 Pride Run.
Common Language will apply this fund to the “Rainbow Campus” program, which aims to integrate the awareness of gender equality into grass-roots social development, encourage young gender minority students to undertake active roles in activities concerning gender equality and public welfare, and promote equality among diverse gender identities. The program will set up an educational platform consisting of young activists, youth organizations, teachers, NGOs, and etc. to carry out various forms of educational activities on gender equality, discover and nurture young college student activists, promote their gender equality and public welfare awareness, and encourage them to carry out educational activities on gender equality on campus.
Common Language would like to thank ShanghaiPRIDE for organizing this fundraising event and, morst importantly, to express appreciation to all participants of Pride Run!
Common Language is a community-based non-profit organization established in January 2005. Common Language focuses on Chinese communities suffering from oppression based on sexual orientation and gender identity and endeavors to educate the general public on sexual diversity issues, eradicate discrimination and fight for equal rights through community mobilizing, public education, and policy advocacy.
